TRAFFORD YOUTH OFFENDING SERVICE AWARDED TOP MARKS
Mark Versallion, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Stretford and Urmston, congratulated Trafford Council's Youth Offending Service (YOS) today upon the announcement by the HMI Probationary Service of top marks for Trafford.
The inspection results put the Conservative-run Council among the highest performing in the country in Youth Offending Services. The inspection looked at three areas: safeguarding, the risk of offenders harming others, and the likelihood of re-offending. Both victims of crime and young people who have used the service were interviewed as part of the inspection.
Trafford YOS engages with offenders, those at risk of offending, and their families to ensure the successful application of rehabilitation orders, preventative services and reparation orders.
Prospective Conservative MP Mark Versallion commented, "This is well deserved recognition for the work of this very important service. It plays such a crucial role in addressing the causes and consequences of our broken society and I am very proud of the Councillors and officers involved in maintaining Trafford among the highest performing in the country. The causes and origins of youth offending are so often tragic stories in themselves but with well-run and compassionate Youth Offending Services, like Trafford's, positive differences can be achieved."
