REPOSSESSION ADVICE

The Conservative Party has produced a repossession advice pack with practical tips and suggestions for homeowners worried about meeting their mortgage payments.

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Mark Versallion said, "As the recession deepens and the number of repossessions continues to rise I want those in positions of authority to help."

Councillor Versallion added, "Many are sceptical about the Government's ability to turn this crisis around, including Labour MPs but there are thousands of people across Stretford and Urmston who are worried about paying their mortgage and this pack is some practical advice in these worrying times."

This Conservative inititative comes as the latest Government figures show a large increase in home repossession orders being made by the courts. 40,000 homes were repossessed in 2008 and the Council of Mortgage Lenders predicts repossessions will reach 75,000 in 2009.

The advice pack tells people how to avoid making their situation worse and can be downloaded at http://tinyurl.com/housingadvice.
