FLIXTON PRAYER GROUP MEETING
Stretford and Urmston's prospective Conservative MP, Mark Versallion, spent Friday night with the Flixton Christian Prayer Group.
At a 7:30pm meeting at Shawe Hall the multi-denominational group of Flixton residents invited the parliamentary candidate, himself a Christian and disciple of the Abrahamic faiths, for a discussion and to listen to their concerns.
The meeting spent time not just on matters of faith - and the lack of it in politics and society at large - but on the many concerns that so many people hold in today's 'broken Britain'. Anti-social behaviour, rising numbers of teenage mothers, the fairness of the welfare system, a generation built on credit, commercialism and 'anything-goes' television and other media.
Mark Versallion is attending and holding many more meetings like the one on Friday night and welcomes any group in the Stretford and Urmston constituency to contact his office in Flixton Road. He is meeting the Flixton Prayer Group again in January.
